| There has been lots of activity at Mountain Meadow Wool these past few months. Val and I have been traveling to trade shows and our yarn is getting some great exposure. We have some amazing quotes: one from our Wyoming governor who when asked about his favorite thing he did in 2008, he responded with “My visit to Mountain Meadow Wool”!!!!!! Wow, we were shocked, I quess that governors’ tour was a very good thing, or he just had a very boring year! We also have been getting great response to our lovely, creamy mountain merino yarn. Cat Bordi ( knitter, author, teacher) thinks it is wonderful and we have quoted her also as describing our yarn as “beautiful, fully alive, innocent, radiant yarn. It rose above all of the others not just for its physical properties, but for its sacred and joyful personality.” We are soooo happy and although we knew we loved it we just weren’t sure everyone else would. Things are really picking up and we have three new employee’s and a new grant out that will give us lots of data and research on our waste water management ( USDA SBIR Program). We have a dye house doing lovely colors for us in Kansas, and a natural dyer in New Mexico, in addition we are getting more and more artisans using our wool at every stage and making beautiful pieces, but one of our favorite things so far has been our Fiber Camp. We had girls from 8 – 11 years old come for 3 days and what fun they had – koolaid dying, wet-felting, needle-felting, weaving, and some knitting and a try at spinning. They had fun and so did we, check out the pictures! Tomorrow is the last day and we will have a tea party for guests to show off their projects.
We are in the process of updating our website with a whole new product page and a blog so keep checking.
